The East Room was bursting at the seams on Saturday for the Giant Balloon Show! 🎈🎉 You guys really know how to show up! We had a great time, and I think everyone left with some bubble solution in their hair 👀 Thanks to everyone who joined us!

A huge thank you goes out to Michele Senger from the Des Moines Symphony for hosting the Instrument Petting Zoo at the library this morning. Everyone got a chance to hold and experience a violin and cello on their own. Many smiles, lots of sounds - great musical introduction for everyone around.

"Shiver me timbers!" We had such a jolly good time last Saturday with our special guest Pirate Dan from Blue Zoo in West Des Moines. He told a swashbuckling story and brought his special guest turtles for all to sea. He set off for another adventure but be sure to join us at the library [...]

What an incredible start to our Summer Reading adventure! 🎉 Our Kick-Off event was buzzing with energy, laughter, and so much excitement for books. We absolutely loved seeing all of your smiling faces! We hope you had a blast too! What was your favorite moment or discovery from the event?
