The Iowa Adventure Pass program is a collaborative statewide initiative with 70+ participating libraries that provide their cardholders with free or discounted access to local attractions, including museums, gardens, zoos, and more.

Eligibility Requirements: Webb Shadle Public Library card holder 18 years or older. (Youth accounts cannot check out the pass.)

Each library chooses which adventures to share with their community. Webb Shadle currently offers access to:

The Blank Park Zoo is the only accredited zoo in Iowa and is the home to over 800 animals from around the world. Its mission is to inspire an appreciation of the natural world through conservation, education, research, and recreation. Adventure Pass covers admission for 2 adults and 2 children; Not valid for special events.

    How to Reserve an Adventure Pass

    1. Click the red “Book Your Adventure Pass” button above.
    2. You may reserve passes up to 60 days in advance.
    3. Each cardholder can reserve one pass per venue per calendar year.
    4. A cardholder may reserve a maximum of two passes per day.
    5. The pass is valid for one day on the reserved date only.

    To Gain Admission:

    • Present a valid photo ID at the entrance of the selected venue.
    • Present a copy of the pass (digital or printed):
      • Blank Park Zoo: Digital and printed passes accepted.
      • Science Center of Iowa: Only printed passes accepted.

Canceling Passes

  • Only library staff can cancel passes.
  • To cancel, contact us during normal business hours by calling or emailing:
  • Passes must be canceled at least one day before the reservation date.
