Friday (March 20th) morning at the Webb Shadle Public Library, Janet from Living History Farms presented Tea Parties Past and Present. We learned about the history of tea, how it’s processed, where tea plants originally came from, and the difference between low tea (afternoon tea). She also shared why it was once considered scandalous for women to drink tea, how the Boston Tea Party came about, and fun facts—like which country drinks the most tea. (Did you guess Ireland? Followed by Britain!)
A huge thank‑you to Vicki Refshaw for the beautiful tea spread, to our friend Janet Wallace from the Friends of the Webb Shadle Public Library for helping set up the presentation, and to the Friends group as a whole for their support in hosting this event.
