Even though there was snow on the ground (on March 17th), we celebrated that spring was near with our Spring Is Here! Children’s Storytime at Webb Shadle Public Library! Karen Johlas‑Szalkowski from Marion County Conservation led a fun, hands‑on program that had our young learners completely engaged, and we are so grateful for the time and care she put into this special visit.
We learned about white‑tailed deer, robins’ nests, otters, bluebirds, turkeys, and blue jays, listened to real bird sounds, and even got to feel a deer pelt. The kids sang a special spring song and played a lively round of spring bingo that brought lots of smiles.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us—and an extra big thank you to Karen for bringing spring to life in such a memorable way. It was a wonderful way to welcome the new season together
