Have you ever wanted to ride in a hot-air balloon? Now’s your chance! The Friends of Webb Shadle Public Library are thrilled to offer tethered hot-air balloon rides as part of our Summer Reading Program fundraiser. This exciting event will take place July 20th 7-9 pm, weather permitting.

How to Purchase Tickets:
To secure your spot, contact Jennifer Latch and specify the number of tickets you wish to purchase. Pre-sale tickets can be picked up at the library the day before the event or at will-call on the day of the event.

Important Information:
Weather Contingency: If it’s too windy or raining, the event will be canceled, and pre-sale ticket holders will be refunded. However, no-shows will not receive a refund.
Waivers: All participants must sign a waiver before riding.
Height Requirement: Riders must be at least 3 feet tall. Children cannot be held during the ride.
Ride Height: The balloon will ascend 20-30 feet, depending on wind conditions.
Group Rides: Depending on size, 3-5 people can ride per basket load. To ride with friends or family, come together, get in line together, and cooperate with event staff to facilitate group rides.

What happens if the weather is bad?
If the weather is unfavorable, we will delay the event in 15/30/60 minute increments if clearing is expected. Otherwise, the event will be canceled, and pre-sale tickets will be refunded. No-shows will not be refunded.
Is there an age limit?
Riders must be at least 3 feet tall for safety reasons. Children cannot be held during the ride.
How high will we go?
The balloon will aim to go 20-30 feet high. If wind conditions at higher altitudes are unsafe, the height will be adjusted accordingly.
Can I go with my best friend or family member?
Yes, depending on the size and number of people, 3-5 can ride per basket load. Arriving and lining up together increases the chances of riding together.
I didn’t get a pre-sale ticket. Can I still ride?
If weather permits, we will offer walk-up rides for $50 per person during the second hour of the event.
